Michelle A. Diaz is the founder of theMADMEDIAGROUP. Event Producer, Consultant and all around Entrepreneur. Welcome to her “MAD” World…
At Northwood University, Michelle studied both Accounting and Business Management while focusing on Sales and Marketing. After graduation, Michelle caught a major break and became the club accountant for Williams Island Country Club in North Miami Beach, FL. Here, Michelle discovered the wonders of the catering and banquet departments, and spent her free time learning the ins and outs of running a successful business while also pursing her love of interacting with clients and organizing their special events. With her captivating personality and natural ability to meet new people, Michelle quickly amassed an array of contacts and rapidly became the go-to person for small event planning and special event management.
In 1998 Michelle started her first venture, MAD Enterprises LLC, a consulting firm based out of Boston, MA specializing in commercial and residential appraisals, showing her first signs of entrepreneurial spirits. It was with this experience she was able to work with the I. Grace Company, a high end residential construction firm when she moved back to NYC in 2000 and was introduced to the concepts and understandings of project management.
While assisting in planning the company holiday event at I.Grace Company, Michelle was introduced to the hospitality world once again when she met 2 “IT” girls. She quickly engaged in a limited partnership with Cititaste Events LLC, a NYC full scale event firm (now known as Skatemoderne and The One Group respectively). Soon, Michelle found herself running corporate hedge fund celebrations and organizing large scale gatherings from Trade Shows, Golf Outings, After parties for MLB and the NFL to product and real estate launches in and around the United States. For the next 5 years, taking her project management experience, coordinating venues, entertainment, caterers and photographers became second nature and Michelle knew it was time to expand into a fully functioning business. In 2005, Michelle formed MAD EVENTS INC to continue her journey in event production expanding bother her knowledge and services in the world of fashion and non-profit event management.
With her love of all things digital and techie, her quick adaption to new programs, applications and with the
inherit growth of the internet and what it brings each day, Michelle began to study Social Media Marketing and Management and decided to merge her OFFLINE social experiences with her ONLINE social experiences creating what is now known as theMADMEDIAGROUP – a Social Agency. Today, theMADMEDIAGROUP prides itself on being an innovative company that offers one-of-a-kind, one-stop, one-on-one service, and welcome the challenge of giving clients the optimum experience in a very competitive market.
Michelle currently sits as a Steering Committee member for Ten Thousand Means, an advocacy organization acting in partnership with the global charities most proactive in the rescue and rehabilitation of the children and young women victimized by abduction and forced labor in all its forms. She volunteers for various smaller charitable efforts and hopes to run her own non-profit charity for at risk youth teens. She has finished her 2nd New York City Marathon and plans to run in the 2012 ING Marathon. She is the oldest of 8 siblings (Becky, Denise, Eunice, Alexis, Erica, Arielle and Justin) and is the aunt of 11 amazing nieces and nephews. She calls Michelle B, Celeste F, Sabrina B, and Jaimyse H her best friends… She sings karaoke as often as possible, still thinks Prince is dreamy and is obsessed with Dave M
